  Ingredients
  French Toast Bake
  
    - 1 loaf brioche bread
 
     - 8 eggs
 
     - 1 cup milk
 
     - 2 cups heavy whipping cream
 
     - 3/4 cup sugar
 
     - 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
 
  
  
  Crumble Topping
  
    - 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
 
    - 1 cup brown sugar
 
    - 1 teaspoon cinnamon
 
    - 1/4 teaspoon salt
 
    - 1/2 cup butter cold, cut into pieces, plus 1 Tablespoon softened butter for the baking dish
 
  
  
  
  Directions
  For the french toast bake:
  
    -  Grease a 9 x 13-inch (deep) baking dish with the 1 Tablespoon softened butter.
 
    - Cut loaf into cubes and place evenly in the baking dish.
 
    - In a large bowl, lightly beat the eggs.
 
    - Whisk in the cream, milk, granulated sugar, and vanilla.
 
    - Evenly pour the mixture over the bread.
 
    - Cover and refrigerate overnight.
 
  
  
  For the topping:
  
    - In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
 
    - Cut in the chilled butter with a pastry blender until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
 
    - Place mixture in a Ziploc bag and refrigerate overnight.
 
  
  
  For the baking:
  
    - Preheat oven to 375°F.
 
    - Sprinkle the crumble mixture over the bread.
 
    - Place the baking dish in the oven and bake, uncovered, until browned and the inside is set but soft, 40-45 minutes.
 
    - Dust with powdered sugar (if using).
